Banana Popsicles

You guys, I can't even with my child. He eats nothing healthy, and it's not for lack of trying. The kid only wants to eat carbs, and I don't mean apples. He can eat mounds and mounds of bread and pizza (but not the cheese on the pizza, because God forbid). I can say with certainty that, given his genetic makeup, this won't result in a shining future. So, with that desperation in mind, I give you this recipe, if you can even call it that. Banana popsicles, or, "manipulative dessert for toddlers."

Happy bananas!

Ingredients:
  • Bananas
  • Popsicle Sticks
  • Greek Yogurt
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Directions:

First, grab some super-ripe bananas.

Slice 'em and dice 'em.

Gently push them onto the popsicle sticks. Don't be distraught if they "tear" a little on the sides. Once they're frozen they'll stay together nicely.

I normally just use vanilla Greek yogurt for these, but I switched it up and also bought a raspberry truffle. Please make sure and get Greek yogurt over regular yogurt. It's thicker and better resembles a popsicle when frozen.

Dip the banana in the yogurt.

Place bananas on a baking pan lined with wax paper.

Cover with sprinkles (optional, but why wouldn't you?) and freeze for about an hour.

Bask in the knowledge that you have totally fooled a one-year-old into eating fruit. Wonkie.

Love and healthy-ish eating,
