Cajun Turkey Sandwich

I know it's basic. And I get that you don't need me to teach you how to make a sandwich. I'm just here to remind you just how good a sandwich can be. And simple. And inexpensive. And surprisingly satisfying.

Yummy doesn't always mean complicated. Sometimes, the best recipes are the simplest ones. Think of the raspberry sorbet punch, or the one-pot sour cream lasagna. And don't even get me started on the Doney dip. My point is, sometimes making your own sandwich at home is more gratifying than a) going to a sandwich shop for twice the cost, or b) getting the most expensive ingredients from the organic health food store that everyone swears by. Simplicity. That's the name of the game.

So here's my favorite sandwich:

Whole wheat. Or sourdough. Crispy bacon. Deli cajun turkey. Fresh provolone from that weird (yet fantastic) Amish place down the road. Swiss is great, too. Dijon mayonnaise.

That's it. Grab some Sunchips and a Diet Coke, and you'll be satisfied. Because Thursdays should be simple.

Love and le sandwich,
