Chick-fil-A NEW Grilled Chicken Menu: Tasting and Review

When Chick-fil-A contacts you and asks you to come taste their new line of grilled chicken, you say yes.

Every. Single. Time. You say yes.

I mean, isn't that the dream? To work endlessly on a food blog for years, and then, out of the blue, Chick-fil-A wants you to come eat. FOR FREE. All the late nights, sweat and tears were worth it, mom. I got a free chicken sandwich.

But seriously, I had so much fun joining a few other local bloggers to test Chick-fil-A's new grilled line. And because it's grilled, I took that as license to eat as much as I wanted. We were able to taste test their grilled nuggets, the grilled chicken club, the grilled market salad, the grilled chicken cool wrap, the chicken salad sandwich, a fruit cup, and their peach milkshake.

Guys. Listen to me closely. I would never lie to you. I tell you all the time that macaroni and cheese tastes better than vegetables, and I've always been up-front about my addiction to Diet Dr. Pepper. So trust me when I say, you need to try this if you haven't. I know what you're probably thinking: "I've had it before. Right?" Wrong. Their new grilled line is crazy complex. The owner of this particular store went into details that were way over my head. It's a new grill, a new process, and it somehow involves a USB drive that tells the grill exactly how to cook the chicken.

It's insane.

Okay, so let's go over the different items I got to try:

1. Chicken Salad Sandwich
"*Freshly made at each Restaurant, this tasty sandwich is made with chunks of our Chick-fil-A chicken breast, chopped eggs, celery, sweet pickle relish and mayonnaise served chilled with Green Leaf lettuce on toasted Wheatberry bread."
The truth is, I don't eat chicken salad sandwiches. Ever. But I tried it, because mom raised me to be polite. And you know what? It was actually very, very tasty. The bread was fresh and lightly toasted, and the chicken was pretty good. Would I order it again? Nope, but not because it wasn't good. Just because I don't eat chicken salad sandwiches. I can't get over the whole mayonnaise thing.

2. Grilled Chicken Nuggets
"*Bite-sized pieces of boneless breast of chicken, marinated with a special blend of seasonings and grilled for a tender and juicy backyard-grilled taste. Available in 8-count or 12-count entrees with guest's choice of dipping sauce. Also available in 4-count or 6-count Kids Meal servings."
Oh, my word. These were the most flavorful and juicy nuggets I've ever had. I would order this again, time a thousand.

3. Grilled Chicken Club
"*A boneless breast of chicken, marinated with a special blend of seasonings and grilled for a tender and juicy backyard-grilled taste, served on a toasted multigrain bun with Colby-Jack cheese, smoked applewood bacon, Green Leaf lettuce and tomato. Served with Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce."
Once again, the chicken was mouth-watering. It tastes very different than their prior grilled chicken sandwich. Plus, it had bacon, lettuce and cheese and was on a whole wheat bun. Again, this is a winner. Probably my second favorite item I tasted.

4. Grilled Market Salad
"*Grilled and sliced chicken breast served on a fresh bed of chopped Romaine lettuce and baby greens, topped with shredded red cabbage and carrots, crumbled blue cheese and a mix of red and green apples, strawberries and blueberries. Made fresh daily. Served with Harvest Nut Granola, Roasted Nut Blend and Zesty Apple Cider Vinaigrette."
I'm going through a salad phase, so I definitely loved this. Everything was incredibly fresh -- no soggy old fruit here. The roasted nut blend and zesty apple cider vinaigrette dressing was the star of this show. Don't chicken out and get something safe, like Ranch {preaching to the choir here}.

5. Grilled Chicken Cool Wrap
"*Sliced grilled chicken breast, nestled in a fresh mix of Green Leaf lettuce with shredded red cabbage and carrots and a blend of shredded Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses, tightly rolled in a flaxseed flour flat bread. Made fresh daily. Served with Avocado Lime Ranch dressing (or guest's choice of dressing)."
This was, by far, my favorite of the day. I'm naturally crazy about wraps, so when you add the fact that the chicken is this tender, plus the avocado lime Ranch dressing, and I was hooked. You know what? I'm getting this tomorrow for lunch. Glad that's decided.

6. Fruit Cup
"*A great-tasting, nutritious fruit mix made with mandarin orange segments, fresh strawberries, blueberries and red and green apple pieces, served chilled, in a choice of sizes. Prepared fresh at each Restaurant."
I'm not huge of fruit {unless it's covered in chocolate, which I'm told defeats the purpose}, but I enjoyed this. Truth is, though, I'd rather have french fries. But who wouldn't?

7. Peach Milkshake
"*Our creamy Milkshakes are hand-spun the old-fashioned way each time, and feature delicious Icedream® topped off with whipped cream and one crucial cherry. Available in Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry and Cookies & Cream and Limited Time Only Peach Milkshake."
This milkshake was stellar. It was creamy, fresh and not too sweet. And I'm not a big peach-eater {are you seeing a pattern here, folks?}.

My official position of the new Chick-fil-A grilled line? In favor. Definitely.

Thanks for inviting me, guys! And Judah really, really enjoyed the cow.

Love and grilled chicken,
